Last month, the Neopost Shipping team were thrilled to attend the largest eCommerce event in Berlin - The eCommerce Berlin Expo. More than 4000 engaged attendees walked through the venue doors, and the bustling event was full of delegates who were actively embracing the future vision of eCommerce. The sector truly united on a global scale, with exhibitors attending from over 30 countries.
Throughout the one-day event, exhibitors and attendees shared many technology-focused conversations. The impacts of AI and Machine Learning across the eCommerce industry were illustrated by over 40 speakers, and delegates were provided with countless thought-provoking takeaways. Here are three highlights:
Tapping into AI for supply chain innovation
Neopost Shipping’s Darko Atijas, Head of Sales and Marketing in Europe, was on stage to share our vision in a presentation entitled "Progress or Perish: The Technology Flywheel". The subject of Artificial Intelligence (AI) was topical at eCommerce Berlin Expo, and Darko presented his thoughts on this subject to the 4000 attendees:
"Every aspect of commerce, AI and automation in Supply Chain is being disrupted."
"The pace of change is increasing because of AI, and only businesses willing to take calculated and regular risk will survive in an increasingly competitive landscape. Consumer technology is driving increased consumer expectations. Commerce is becoming more and more fragmented and fuelled by huge investment in ecommerce, supply chain, and in-store technology innovation. This is not the future - this is now.”

Extending the Magento ecosystem
There were many networking opportunities at the event, and as a premier technology partner of Magento, we were pleased to make new connections with Meet Magento Association. With our Australian team just finishing up at MagentoLive in Sydney recently, we shared with Meet Magento insights into a shipping technology powered by Temando that made waves at the event - Magento Shipping.
Celebrating the best logistics companies
Neopost Shipping was honoured to be shortlisted for the Best Logistics category at the eCommerce Belin Awards, alongside nine other companies: Byrd, DB Schenker, Seven Senders, NAVconnect, DS Smith, Shipcloud GmbH, ITEC-PRO, Pixi, and reWorker. Congratulations to the winner, Seven Senders!
All in all, we found eCommerce Berlin Expo to be a wonderful event that brings e-commerce players together, and we took as much as we gave when it comes to insights on the supply chain industry.
